Things To Do on a Rainy Day

Myrtle Beach is known for its beautiful, sunny days in the summer, but we do occasionally get a rainy day every now and then. Here is a list of things you can do if you experience a rainy day on your vacation.

Ripley’s Aquarium
Get out of the rain and learn about the creatures that live under the sea at Ripley’s Aquarium. Located at Broadway at the Beach, the aquarium is the perfect way to spend a day indoors. See sharks, turtles, and many different types of fish while you glide under the Dangerous Reef. You can even pet a sting ray in the Friendship Flats. These are just a few of the many exhibits and things you can do at Ripley’s Aquarium.

WonderWorks
Another Broadway at the Beach indoor activity is WonderWorks. There are over 100 hands on exhibits for you and your family to enjoy. Try the Xtreme 360, where you if you pedal fast enough, you can complete a 360 degree spin. There are many different space exhibits for those who love outer space, and exhibits that will challenge you physically. Try to see how long you can keep your hands in water as cold as it was when the Titanic sank or see if you can lie on a bed of 3,500 hundred nails. WonderWorks is perfect for all ages, because they have exhibits for everyone.

Children’s Museum of South Carolina
The Children’s Museum is a great place to keep the kids entertained while it rains. There are tons of exhibits that will allow them to learn while having fun. They can learn about tools and use blocks to build their own house, or dress up as a pirate and learn about boats and the pirates of the Carolina’s. These are just a few of the many exhibits at the Children’s Museum.

See a Show
What better way to forget about the bad weather than seeing a show. Myrtle Beach has many different shows to choose from, so you can find the perfect one that will entertain everyone in your family. Legends in Concert is a tribute show to your favorite stars such as Dolly Parton, Elvis, Taylor Swift, Steven Tyler, and more. If you’d rather enjoy a meal and a show, then check out Medieval Times or Pirates Voyage. Both of these shows have excitement and thrills along with a delicious feast to enjoy. See an extraordinary magician at the Palace Theatre or a talented singer at the Alabama Theatre.

Shop til You Drop
If you love to shop, then what better way to spend a rainy day, than at the mall. Coastal Grand Mall is has all of your favorite shops to keep you entertained all day long. Drop the kids at Cinemark Theater, and they can enjoy a movie. If you want to head up a little more north, then the Myrtle Beach Mall is where you’d want to go. Enjoy a movie at the Carmike Theater or shop around at all the great stores the mall has to offer. If it’s only raining lightly, and you can always go to the Tanger Outlets. They have two locations, on 501 and 17.

Hopefully you will enjoy beautiful weather on your vacation, but if you get caught with a few showers, there will still be plenty of things to do in Myrtle Beach.
