Ready, Set, Run .... It is time again for the Myrtle Beach Marathon

Ready, Set, Run!  It is time again for the Myrtle Beach Marathon.

The Myrtle Beach Marathon will have events from February 16 - 18, 2012.  Start your event off by heading to the Spirit Airlines Runner's Expo held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, February 16 - 17.  The best part of the expo is that it is free and open to the public.  The runners can pick up their race bibs, runner shirts and visit sponsor and vendor booths in the exhibition area.  You can also purchase official Myrtle Beach marathon merchandise.

The festivities begin on Friday, February 18, at the Ripley's Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach.  It is the Ripley's Family Fun Run.  The 1 mile run will begin at 5:30 PM and will begin and end at the aquarium.

Our next event will be the RBC Bank 5k race.  This will begin at the aquarium at 7:00 PM and end at the Pelican's baseball field parking lot.  Awards and fun will be after the race friday night.

Saturday, February 18, brings on the fun!  The half and full marathon's begin at 6:30 AM.  After the race there will be awards and lots of fun.

Also make sure to end the event at the House of Blues Post Race Party.  This event is free to all registered participants and volunteers, ($20 for guests and non-participants).  Make sure to pick up tickets at the Expo to get in.  Must be 21 or older to get in.  Free food and refreshments will be available from 5 Pm - 7 PM.  Entertainment will be provided.  All awards and trophies will be available for pickup at the Post Race Party.
