Find Out What’s New in Myrtle Beach for 2017
2016 was a huge year for the Myrtle Beach area, from welcoming new attractions, events, and restaurants into the community. Now only a few months in the new year and we are seeing the finishing renovations at Broadway at the Beach, the new restaurants opened up for business, and the newest events being kicked off!
Myrtle Beach's Newest Attractions:
Broadway at the Beach: One of the most anticipated changes to the Myrtle Beach area is the beloved Broadway at the Beach. There will still be construction going on in this area throughout 2017, however a lot of the major renovations are starting to be wrapped up. Since the Hard Rock Cafe pyramid was torn down last year, new construction has started on the Dave & Buster’s that will take its place. There is no set date for when the Dave & Buster’s will be finished and opened for business, but rumors suggest it might be done as soon as early June. Another exciting announcement for Broadway is the addition of a Paula Deen restaurant that will be taking the place of the Carlos’n Charlies. More exciting changes will be taking place so make sure to stay tuned for any updated news!
Aldi: The next exciting addition coming to the Myrtle and North Myrtle Beach locations is the Aldi Grocery stores. So far there has not been any word of where in the Grand Strand this store will be popping up but you can guarantee you will see one in the near future.
The Track Recreation Center: After construction appeared up near North Kings highway last year for a new Track Recreation Center, it is finally opened for business! The Track Recreation Center is a two-multilevel go-kart amusement center with fun packed adventure for the entire family! There is even an inside arcade center when you are finished racing the tracks!
Pirate Ship Adventures: Not only are there tons of fun activities to do while in Murrells Inlet, but now visitors can enjoy a pirate themed experience while visiting! This amusement area allows kids and adults to go on a pirate expedition cruise around the inlet!
Cooper House Dinner Theatre: Some major changes are in store for the Cooper House Dinner Theatre this new year because of the new owners and management. This very popular venue for weddings and special event will now be holding murder mystery party themed dinners along with other live entertainment every month.
Myrtle Beach's Newest Restaurants:
RipTydz: Last year, if you were visiting the Myrtle Beach area you may have noticed some new construction taking place on Ocean Boulevard right past the SkyWheel. This happens to be the spot for Myrtle Beach’s coolest new restaurant, RipTydz. RipTydz is going to be opening up sometime this February and will be the hottest oceanfront and rooftop bar in the Grand Strand with its appeal being mostly towards a younger crowd.
Hickory Tavern: Known to be primarily a North Carolina based eatery, has now opened a Myrtle Beach location. Hickory Tavern is a sports pub serving seafood, sandwiches, burgers, and more in a very casual environment. This will for sure be everyone’s new favorite hot spot for sports fans.
Panera Bread: One of the most anticipated additions to the Myrtle Beach area is the opening of the Panera Bread. Officially opened in late 2016, this restaurant has been stirring excitement up with not only visitors but locals as well. Currently located in Surfside Beach, fans of the establishment can now enjoy delicious soup, sandwiches, homemade pastries, and more!
MOD Pizza: Offering made-to-order pizzas, Mod Pizza has officially two locations in the grand strand with one residing over near Surfside Beach and the other in North Myrtle Beach. MOD Pizza has a large variety of personal pies, and shareable sizes where you can find something for any member of your family.
New Myrtle Beach Events:
Hole-In-One Contest: Starting this new year, the EagleWatchGolf is initiating a hole-in-one contest to certain golf courses in the area. The current jackpot is set to be around $5,000 a week while getting progressively higher until someone wins the contest! The Current participating courses include Arcadian Shores Golf Club, Crow Creek Golf Club, Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club, Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club, and True Blue Golf Club. More courses will be added.
