The Hammock Shops in Myrtle Beach

The Hammock Shops in Pawleys IslandDunes Village guests looking for a unique shopping experience need look no further than the Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island.  A far cry from a typical mall or outlet, The Hammock Shops are unique to the area and carry a certain Southern charm not found in big shopping centers. Quaint cottages as storefronts tied together by beaten brick paths set a shopping scene unlike any other.

The Hammock Shops started as a single storefront in 1938 where Joshua John Ward began making and selling comfortable, quality hammocks as well as art, plants, and even fresh caught seafood. Over the years more and more storefronts moved into the complex and have created the Lowcountry shopping & dining masterpiece that it is today. There are even daily demonstrations by expert hammock makers and basket weavers.
